BioGaia Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS)

BioGaia Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) with zinc - for the treatment of diarrhoea.

Our oral rehydration solution conveniently supplements the body's intestinal flora during diarrhoea, and is quickly resorbed by the body to restore the balance of salts and fluids.

Containing Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis, BioGaia ORS promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestinal tract and helps restore a healthy bacterial balance during acute diarrhoea.

Both the WHO and UNICEF recommend using zinc in rehydration for children, and therefore our oral rehydration solution contains both mineral salts and essential zinc.

Serving size:

1 Sachet, 7 sachets per package

Amount per serving:

Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis, minimum 10^9 CFU live, active cells /sachet

Other ingredients:

Glucose, sodium citrate, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, zinc sulphate

Stir 1 sachet into 250 ml water.

Caution: be sure to boil the water if you are not sure of the water quality - or use bottled water. Boiled water should be cooled before adding the BioGaia ProTectis ORS.

When the ORS is mixed it should be used within six hours when stored in refrigerator and within 3 hours when stored at room temperature (max 25°C).

This product should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. The recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.

Tip: Add a spoon of apple juice, or serve with a straw!

Always use the volume of water stated. If the ORS is not mixed with enough water, the body will receive too much salt, which can be dangerous.

Always contact your child health centre or doctor if the child seems abnormally tired, does not want to drink or is not urinating.
